Firefighting in the City of Wheeling pre-dates West Virginia’s statehood. Since that time, 10 firefighters have died in the line of duty. Over the last several months, members of Local 12 have worked with local businesses, labor, organizations, and individuals to collect funds, materials, and manpower to construct the memorial.
