Paul was born in 1947 and is a professional bronze sculptor artist, retired firefighter (serving the City of Tucson Fire Department for 27 years), and army veteran. He is from New Jersey originally, was raised in Flagstaff (where he studied fine arts at NAU), and today lives in Tucson, Arizona with his wife.

In 1972 after finishing his military service in the United States Army Paul move back to his home town of Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff is located 7,000 feet above sea level amidst the world’s largest Ponderosa pine forest. It was here that Paul got his first taste of firefighting with the United States Forest Service. After his service in Flagstaff he moved to Mesa, Arizona, where he worked as a civilian firefighter at William Air Force Base in both crash/rescue and structural firefighting. Paul decided to back school. He received his Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in 1978, from Northern Arizona University located in Flagstaff, Arizona. Paul then moved to Tucson, Arizona, here he joined the Tucson Fire Department.

911 Sculptures was founded in 1994 by Paul Olesniewicz.  After 27 years of service with the City of Tucson Fire Department, Paul retired from the Tucson Fire Department  to continue his sculpture career full time. 911 Sculpture’s mission is to convey the dedication and pride exhibited by firefighters throughout the history of the fire service.

“My goal is to convey the dedication and pride exhibited by firefighters throughout the history of the fire service. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to combine my firefighting experience with my love of art and sculpture.”

Paul’s sculptural works can be seen on display in museums, memorial sites, fire departments and homes of firefighters and civilians around the world. Paul currently resides in Tucson, Arizona.

Where are you located?

We design and cast our sculptures in Southern Arizona (Tucson) and ship nationwide. We’ve shipped over 40 bronze statues to memorial sites across the U.S. and Canada and many smaller sculptures (and cremation urns) as well.

We work from our home workshop and Metalphysic Sculpture Studio (foundry), which was founded by Anthony Bayne in 2001 in Tucson, Arizona.
