The Story
The date was March 29, 1970, a very sad day for the town of Corry when the firefighters of the City of Corry Pennsylvania responded to a fire in a local paint store. This fire and the subsequent massive explosion took the lives of 5 of Corry’s firefighters that day. After these many years the store was never rebuilt and is now a parking lot. The Corry Firefighters Memorial stands on the spot where these brave firefighters gave the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of their community. The statue entitled Last Alarm Life Size was chosen to stand watch over the fallen firefighters of Corry.
